Research Areas

Annotation

We provide high-throughput prediction methods for analyzing the roles of proteins in the cellular machinery and their potential involvement in disease.

Grid Computing in Bioinformatics

Grid computing provides the ability to distribute process execution on geographically separated computers, which is particularly helpful for solving large-scale bioinformatics problems.

Computational Immunomics

Computational methods are invaluable to vaccine design. Several aspects of computational immunomics are targeted in our group. As results of our research we provide services for predicting MHC binding and the antigen processing pathway.

Networks

Modeling and simulating biological networks is a challenge in bioinformatics. With BN++ we provide a library for analysis and visualization of complex biochemical networks.

Proteomics

High-throughput analysis of proteins and proteomes plays an important role in diagnosis and drug development. OpenMS is a software project addressing the current need for efficient analysis of mass spectrometry data.
